Listen, I bought 13 Fall books for young kids, and only 4 made the list.

For some reason, in the book world, Fall is often inseparable from Halloween and Thanksgiving.

(I also found some great Thanksgiving-themed books that I'll put on a separate list next month!)

Note: Pair "The Leaf Thief" and "Fletcher and the Falling Leaves" together for a fun, thematic reading session! Both books feature characters worried about falling leaves, but they respond in completely different ways. This can open up many wonderful conversations with your child about handling scary or unfamiliar situations with creativity and curiosity.

3. The Scarecrow by Beth Ferry

In a pumpkin patch, an unlikely friendship blossoms between a lonely scarecrow and a baby crow. This tender story of kindness and acceptance will warm your heart and remind your little one of the importance of compassion.
